Enabling Onshore Wind projects in the Philippines

The joint team at K2 Management & Ramboll supports two onshore wind power projects in the Philippines as Owner’s Engineer.

Our team is supporting the development and construction of two pioneering onshore wind power projects in the Philippines: the Tanay Wind Project located in Rizal and the Alabat Wind Project situated in Quezon. These projects are spearheaded by Alternergy Holdings Corporation, with Ramboll appointed as Owner’s Engineer (OE).

As the OE contractor, we will provide comprehensive support in procurement processes within a multi-contracting framework, construction management, design reviews, site management, and quality control measures.

Scott Hsu, Country Market Director Taiwan and Philippines for Ramboll’s Wind Division: “We are thrilled to be part of Alternergy’s ongoing work in the Philippines. By leveraging our international consultants, local expertise, and collaborating closely with Alternergy’s team, we are well-positioned to ensure the successful development and construction of these two pioneering projects. As well as our technical experience, we have a keen understanding of the Asia Pacific markets as they continue to evolve. We know what needs to be done, and we deliver.”

Patrick Architta, Director Asia Pacific for Ramboll’s Wind Division, emphasizes the growth of renewable energy in the region: “We have been witnessing a remarkable surge in the solar sector in the Philippines, and now, we are seeing the onshore wind sector take off as well. The synergy between Alternergy's robust development capabilities and Ramboll's expertise are another promising early stride in the growth of onshore wind energy in the region — and one which we hope to see continue, full speed ahead.”

These projects mark significant milestones toward sustainable energy in the Philippines, and Ramboll is proud to contribute to their successful realization.

“This pair of projects represent excellent progress toward achieving the Philippines’ energy transition goals. We look forward to working with K2M to maintain this momentum. Having an independent advisor with global expertise was a natural choice for us as we aim to deliver clean and sustainable power.”
