K2 Management is proud to announce it has supported existing client, investor CGN Europe Energy S.A.S. (CGNEE), with their acquisition of 14 wind projects across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The scope of work was full acquisition technical due diligence of developer Gaelectric’s 230 MW wind portfolio (10 operational, four in-construction sites) from competitive bid stage to preferred bidder and additional ad-hoc support through the transaction process.

Gaelectric will remain as asset manager of the sites and CGNEE has indicated they plan to continiue investment in the clean energy sector:

“CGNEE is dedicated to becoming a rising force in renewable energy in Europe. For this to happen it is important to work with senior advisors and consultants. Their hands-on experience and insights have given us the necessary comfort for investing and de-risking areas of concern,” Mr. LI You from CGNEE comments.

K2 Management partnered with grid and environmental specialist consultancy TNEI for this assignment, as understanding grid constraints is one of the single biggest challenges in the valuation of wind assets in Ireland.

“We are pleased to support our long term client with their first investment in Ireland,” Will Sheard, K2 Management's Global Manager, Due Diligence, explains, “with K2 Management’s proven experience in acquisition due diligence, project delivery and wind farm operations, the project team was able to provide responsive and robust support to CGNEE on this milestone transaction.”
